Navigating Neuroimaging: A Three-Part Series for the Rehab Clinician (Live In-Person) – MGB Staff Only

INSERT DOW, INSERT DATE, 2026
INSERT TIME p.m. EST

Live In-Person at Spaulding Cambridge

This three-part interdisciplinary discussion series will aid in the comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with neurological deficits. The course will enhance clinical understanding of the fundamentals of neuroimaging, increase clinician confidence using neuroimaging to guide prognostication and goal setting, and improve clinician ability to use neuroimaging as an education tool for appropriate patients. Each lecture builds upon content from the previous discussion, so attendance at all three is required.

Learning OutcomesFollowing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify 3 distinguishing features of different neuroimaging modalities
  • Predict 3 potential patient characteristics based on neuropathology.
  • Identify 3 possible prognostic indicators that can be extrapolated by neuroimaging.

Emily Silverberg, MS CCC-SLP, BC-ANCDS, CBIS is currently a speech-language pathologist in a floating clinical role for Spaulding Rehabilitation Network. She provides assessment and treatment across the inpatient continuum of care, including acute rehab, long-term acute care, acute care, and skilled nursing settings. Emily has been with Spaulding Rehabilitation Network since 2014, working with both the adult and pediatric populations. Emily specializes in the management of patients with acquired cognitive-communication disorders including disorders of consciousness, language impairments, and dysphagia. She has a particular interest in correlating patients’ neuroimaging with clinical presentation. She obtained her board certification in adult neurogenic communication disorders via the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences in 2021.

Craig Rovito, MD is brain injury physiatrist who graduated residency in June 2020 where he served as chief resident and began his academic career at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Craig currently serves as the residency training director for the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Harvard Medical School Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program. Clinically, he has particular interests in ultrasound, musculoskeletal medicine, spasticity, traumatic brain injury, concussion, and stroke. Craig also serves as an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant for the National Football League. His primary interests are clinical with a secondary interest in outcomes related research as it pertains to severe traumatic brain injury, stroke, and novel approaches to spasticity. Through this research interest, he has orchestrated multiple research projects using the Uniform Data Systems database and examined rehabilitation outcomes related to stroke territory, predictors of recovery after TBI, and comorbidities related to TBI.
